Our Working Journeys programme is tailored to the skills, interests and aspirations of the Client. Disability Confident
About Disability Confident
A Disability Confident employer will generally offer an interview to any applicant that declares they have a disability and meets the minimum criteria for the job as defined by the employer. It is important to note that in certain recruitment situations such as high-volume, seasonal and high-peak times, the employer may wish to limit the overall numbers of interviews offered to both disabled people and non-disabled people. For more details please go to Disability Confident.

We have a small supportive Staff team of 28 joined regularly by our wonderful volunteers. Our Staff come from a wide range of professional backgrounds, bringing expertise in different areas to support and strengthen the work of Charity. The Charity has four sites and regularly provides opportunities for Staff to meet, train and experience delivery at other Hubs. We provide a generous terms and conditions package and opportunities for further professional development and career progression within the Charity.

Journey was founded by parent Carers in 1983 and celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2023. We were chosen by the House of Lords in 2021 as one of fifteen organisations nationally delivering best practice. We invest heavily in Staff training and development and terms and conditions of employment. The Charity holds Investors in People, Better Health at Work, Disability Confident Employer and BILD quality marks. We are currently working towards our Investors in the Environment award. In 2021 and 2022 Staff have reached the National Learning Disability finals recognising their achievements in work as learning disability practitioners.
