Full Job Description

The Women & Families Resource Centre (WFRC) is a registered charity based in Wolverhampton which supports, empowers and advocates for women and children. We aim to actively encourage women to be self-reliant, through empowering them to identify their own needs, make their own choices and create their own solutions.

We offer short term home visits, counselling sessions, practical & emotional One to One support, Domestic violence groups, a baby bank and drop in or chat groups to help women facing crises or challenging situations.

Purpose:

This role involves developing links within the community, especially with socially isolated or disadvantaged women & families & other stakeholders. You will also attend community events and activities, engaging with and enabling women to access activities at the centre.

Main responsibilities:

· Carry out outreach work across Wolverhampton, focusing on groups in the most disadvantaged areas, identifying barriers to participation and seeking creative solutions to those barriers.

· To build relationships with members of the community, especially vulnerable, isolated and disadvantaged women.

· To encourage women to attend sessions and activities held at the centre.

· To assist with the chat group or other project sessions as required.

· To ensure participants complete questionnaires on entry to the centre, and when required for further evaluation.

· To liaise and network with other community organisations.

· To provide information to the various networks including the council, third sector organisations and community groups about the work of WFRC.

· To work collaboratively with the existing Outreach Workers, staff and volunteers.

· To explore developing further outreach with vulnerable parts of the community.

· To arrange bookings for stalls and networking with other community groups.

· Signpost individuals to other WFRC staff for specific support needs.
