Full Job Description

I am looking to employ an additional personal assistant(s) to support me in all aspects of daily living, both inside and outside the home. This is to maintain my independence, support me when I am out and about socially, and sometimes accompanying me to activities or appointments.

HOURS OF WORK

8-10 hours a week initially, to include weekend mornings, times and other days to be agreed. Additional hours may be available sometimes, and could include an occasional evening.

Start time generally 8.15-8.30 a.m. but with flexibility to meet specific needs or appointments.

RATES OF PAY

Meets NMW with additional pay for Bank Holidays worked.

HOLIDAYS

5.6 weeks per annum (pro-rata) inclusive of Bank Holidays.

TASKS CAN INCLUDE:

Assisting me with showering and dressing (when needed)
Applying cream to my skin
Food/meal preparation, or assisting me in preparing meals
Undertaking domestic tasks including, but not restricted to:
Making/changing the bed
Undertaking the laundry including washing, ironing, putting clothes away
Maintaining a tidy and safe kitchen and bathroom
General cleaning and tidying, maintaining a safe home environment
Light hoovering/dusting
Supporting me to follow my interests and engage in the local community.
Accompanying me to activities/appointments
Shopping for me or with me
Providing companionship and support - including going out for coffee
Someone who is keen to look after my small garden - pots and containers.
Driving - in your car, for which business class insurance will be required.

On not to good days, I would need my PA to act independently in prioritising which tasks need doing in preparation for the day ahead.

A person who respects the privacy and confidentiality of working in someone else's home, and ensures that information learned is not shared outside my home
Someone who is self-motivated, and can use their own initiative to do whatever is needed.
Someone with a sense of humour.
Someone who is willing to accompany me to activities and appointments when necessary.
A person who is willing to complete any training required.

Driving:

A car owner, with a clean driving licence, and business class insurance.

This position is part time. I will be your legal employer, and a national insurance number will be required. A six month probationary period is a requirement of this post. Payment will be four-weekly by bank transfer. You will be required to complete an enhanced police check (DBS), which will be paid for by the employer.
