Full Job Description

Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Vetting & On-boarding Co-ordinator to join our Major Projects team to work in Hinkley Point, Bridgwater.,

  • Managing the onboarding of new staff onto the project, proactively managing all aspects of the vetting and onboarding process to enable staff to commence work as quickly as possible.

  • Ensuring all staff proposed to join the project have had their competencies assessed and verified in line with the SQEP (Suitably Qualified Experienced Person) procedure and approving individuals for appointment to the project.

  • Collating and checking information required for the HPC pre-employment screening and submitting applications via the WIMS system for approval.

  • Monitoring progress through to approval stage.

  • Booking employees onto the HPC induction.

  • Ensuring Drugs & Alcohol testing has taken place for all new hires.

  • Ensuring pre-placement medical questionnaire and safety critical medicals (where required) have been complete.

  • Working with the training advisor/ resourcing partner to ensure new starts to the project are competent and qualified to complete their working roles in line with the HPC competency matrix.

  • Confirming staff as competent to proceed to the project, or competent with a training plan and confirming back to line managers that the individual has access to the project.

  • If an individual is competent with a training plan, confirming to the Training Advisor what training is required to ensure gaps are addressed.

  • Booking new joiners onto the BB Project Induction.

  • Managing and maintaining Managed Service Worker (MSW) records throughout their lifetime on the project, ensuring renewal of the process as and when required to ensure continued compliance with client security processes.

  • Key point of contact for managing audits and compliance with security requirements.

  • Acting as key point of contact between the project and the HPC Employment Affairs Unit to manage and resolve issues with respect to vetting and on-boarding.

  • Key point of contact for the project with respect to queries relating to the SQEP procedure.

    We are looking for someone who is confident when dealing with people, and able to ensure that you have all the relevant information required for the internal and external business areas.

  • IT literate

  • Solid experience in database management

  • Solid experience in the use of Excel

  • Proactive
