As a Team Leader within the Sustaining Team, you will drive and coordinate the engineers' activities related to sustaining the quality, cost, and supply of the products within Malvern Panalytical products.
What are your responsibilities?Lead a team of engineers by:Providing line management and support the talent management and career development of your team members.
Understanding the capacity and capability of your team members through support of the group Agile SCRUM process.
Highlighting and address knowledge skills gaps required to support the sustaining environment.
Collaborate with team members, peers, and leaders across the business to: React and adapt to changing business priorities.
Drive the team towards customer-centric solutions, in an agile and adaptable manner.
Communicate well with each other in a fast moving and changing environment, providing stability and clarity to your team.
Prioritise, plan, and execute team activities through the Agile SCRUM process.
Ensure that your team activities are fully understood, visible and achieve appropriate due diligence through close collaboration with technical, quality and compliance specialists.
Define and develop best engineering practice:Promote the latest best practise guidance for the timely delivery of projects/tasks to a high degree of quality.
Understand and promote good design techniques, experimentation, analysis, and domain understanding.
Encourage innovation in everything we do.
Foster an engineering culture which strives towards on time delivery of high-quality work with a focus on Design for Six Sigma (DfSS) and Design for Excellence (DfX).
Develop a culture of peer review and cross functional collaboration with key stakeholders.
Support Sustaining team activities to identify outsourcing opportunities and collaborate with technical and strategic partners.
Support the activities required to maintain our products compliance post-launch.

Supply - Continuation of product availabilityWhat do you need to be successful in this role?Entry QualificationsMust have completed an apprenticeship, HNC, HND or degree, in the relevant areas.
EssentialExperienced in a operational environment, with some experience of leadership and people development.
Proven problem-solving ability and analytical skills.
The ability to solve problems using a combination of sound experimental technique and good analytical understanding is of particular importance at this level.
Soft skills to collaborate with other departments.
DesirableExperience of working in a role involving significant Operations and Service interaction would be beneficial, including engineering change (EC) processes, customer feedback (CFB), and experience of Lean manufacturing techniques (SPC).
Good experimental techniques and understanding of statistical analysis.
Ability to present arguments simply, both written and orally.
