Full Job Description

· Owner of the BU quality strategy, quality performance and continuous improvement roadmap.

· Quality management systems ISO representative for ISO 9001: 2015 and IATF 16949: 2016

· Facilitator of business process improvement programmes

· Leadership of the UK quality team to best support the overall business

To ensure that the manufacturing quality resources and procedures within the UK are fit for purpose and support the achievement of quality targets and business objectives. The role holder, through a process of policy development, implementation, problem solving and internal audit, gives a lead to managers and staff across the sites in all quality related matters.

Responsibilities and duties

  • To establish efficient Quality systems and procedures that will contribute to the achievement of business objectives.

  • To continuously monitor process and procedures, modifying them as appropriate where customer or business needs change.

  • To promote Quality awareness throughout the Company ensuring that standards and procedures are communicated and rigorously enforced within all Company activities via a detailed audit plan.

  • To ensure the voice of the Customer is understood and the quality performance is aligned.

  • To safeguard the Company's accredited quality standards and working alongside the UK HSE manager, to have overall ownership of the Company's Integrated Management System.

  • To arrange the required auditing and quality training programmes with an emphasis on continuous improvement.

  • Ensure all non-conformances are captured through a robust internal audit programme and that the teams are sufficiently skilled to identify the true root cause and implement permanent corrective actions in the required timeframe.

  • To lead high profile problem solving and root cause understanding of quality issues across the BUs.

  • To manage the site's quality control methods, procedures and equipment including the validation of effective operator testing programmes.

  • To initiate and undertake supplier audits and customer visit with a quality bias.

  • To develop and control the budget for Quality expenditure across all sites.

  • To ensure that employees have appropriate awareness of Quality requirements relevant to their roles.

  • To monitor and report on the cost of non-quality indicators (NQi)

  • To monitor and report the Quality KPIs, preparing monthly dashboards to drive improvement.

    Certified Six sigma black belt with demonstrable experience in high profile improvement campaigns (Must have).

  • Experience in a Quality leadership role. (Must have)

  • Manufacturing quality experience (Must have)

  • In depth knowledge in the application of ISO 9001: 2015 and IATF 16949 in a regulated manufacturing environment (must have).

  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

  • Knowledge to support the professional development of people in manufacturing quality roles.

  • Able to demonstrate the delivery of results and continuous improvement.

  • Strong relationship building (internal and external stakeholders) with excellent Influencing skills.

  • A clear communicator, able to manage and prioritise workload accordingly.

  • A pragmatic but structured approach to day-to-day leadership on quality matters

  • Highly organised and a confident decision maker
