As a Technical Manager, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in upholding the company's commitment to excellence. They'll be responsible for leading the technical and quality assurance function, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, customer expectations, and the company's own stringent standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Technical and Quality teams, including two direct reports of Quality Assurance Shift Managers.


  • Generate reports and summaries for easy trend analysis and monitoring of key quality and food safety KPIs (such as customer complaints, micro results, and quality control data), facilitating the development of effective improvement plans.


  • Initiate and ensure timely conduct of internal/external audits as per the agreed schedule, addressing any resulting non-conformances promptly and appropriately.


  • Manage the Technical relationship with customers, including providing site tours for retail clients.


  • Handle customer complaints, leading investigations and implementing preventive measures.


  • Ensure that outgoing products meet agreed-upon quality standards.

    Degree in Food Science (preferred).


  • Experience in a similar role within the food manufacturing industry.


  • Familiarity with BRCGS/Red Tractor/RSPCA/Organic/Customer standards.


  • Previous experience working with retailers.


  • Strong people management skills.


  • Proficiency in HACCP with qualifications to at least level 3 (essential).
