Full Job Description

The successful candidate will support the Computing and ICT team by sharing and modelling the school's vision and values in everyday work and practice. Those applicants with experience would be involved in developing and motivating staff, setting high expectations, contributing to rigorous and on-going self-evaluation and taking responsibility for leading specific areas/initiatives to secure further school wide improvements. Those new to the profession can expect a fully structured support programme for the duration of their induction period. They can expect to benefit from mentors who are experienced and accredited in delivering the Early Career Framework as well as excellent internal and external CPD provision from a school which was designated Lead Partner School for ECT mentoring and training by the University of Gloucestershire.

Newent Community School and Sixth Form Centre has a strong team spirit and a passion for creating an inclusive learning environment, which enables the holistic development of all students. We promote exemplary relationships at all levels and strive for outstanding outcomes. All staff and students are valued highly. We are committed to developing individuals and working with them to reach their full potential. Emphasis on staff wellbeing is an integral part of our culture and we provide an outstanding working environment.

We continue to be a good school, as confirmed by OFSTED following their visit in March 2018, offering a high quality of education with recent observations recognising that our students are making strong progress in the majority of subjects. In addition, it was rightly observed that our students feel safe, and are safe, in school. This is achieved by the school's culture of care and vigilance. All staff are firmly committed to ensuring that every student achieves their full potential.

You are encouraged to contact the school to arrange an informal visit if you would like an opportunity to see the facilities for yourself at the school. I hope that having read the details from the school, and hopefully also seen the work we do here for yourself, you decide to apply for this post. If that is the case, I would like to thank you in advance for the time required for such an application and look forward to reading your letter in due course.

Applications should be indicated by letter, detailing your experience to date and outlining your skills against the Job Description. There is a requirement to submit a fully completed application form with your letter.

The closing date for this role is Thursday 9th May, with interviews expected to take place on the following week. However, please note that where the school receives an exceptional response, shortlisting and interviews may be arranged prior to the closing date by mutual agreement.
