Full Job Description

Responsible for: Building positive behaviour in the tuition centre and covering tutors as and when required, The Behavioural Officer at our tuition centre is crucial in fostering a positive and productive learning environment. This position is responsible for managing student behaviour, implementing behaviour intervention strategies, and collaborating with parents, tutors, and administrators to create a supportive atmosphere conducive to academic success. Additionally to cover the tutor role as and when required.,

  • Behavioural Management:

  • Observe and assess student behaviour to identify patterns and potential issues.

  • Develop and implement behaviour management strategies and policies to address individual and group challenges.

  • Maintain a proactive approach to prevent and address disruptive behaviour throughout the tuition centre.

  • Intervention and Support:

  • Provide individualised support and intervention for students exhibiting challenging behaviour.

  • Collaborate with tutors to implement behaviour modification plans and monitor progress.

  • Conduct counselling sessions or facilitate group discussions to address behavioural concerns.

  • Ensure students are on task and working through their tuition booklets as effectively as possible.

  • Check on students progress in the tuition session.

  • There may be a need to isolate the students to ensure they are on task. Do this in collaboration with management and admin staff.

  • Intervention should be proactive and motivating.

  • Communication and Collaboration:

  • Communicate effectively with parents, tutors, and administrators regarding student behaviour.

  • Very disruptive behaviour should be noted in a constructive way in the lesson report.

  • Collaborate with other staff members to create a consistent and supportive approach to behaviour management.

  • Attend parent-tutor meetings as needed.

  • Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student behaviour, interventions, and outcomes.

  • Generate reports and summaries for administrators, tutors, and parents as required.

  • Training and Development:

  • Provide training sessions for tutors and staff on effective behaviour management strategies.

  • Stay informed about current trends and best practices in behaviour management and education.


  • 6. Tutor Cover:

    · As directed by the centre manager ensure you cover tutors that are absent or late.

    · While tutoring keep a close eye on behaviour issues in the classroom and report any issues to management

    Working Times: Monday - Friday (5.45pm-7.30pm) or equivalent, Weekends opening: 10am - 4.45pm (see Annual Planner in www.tutormychild.com for centre opening and closing dates)
