Student Health Visitor - Solihull

Solihull Health Visiting Service is delighted to be offering qualified nurses and midwives an opportunity to complete the Post Graduate Diploma / BSc (hons)Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (Health Visiting) course commencing the 2nd September 2024 in conjunction with Birmingham City University., To engage in training in order to complete the BSc (Hons) Degree / Postgraduate Diploma in Specialist Community Public Health (Specialist Practitioner award in Health Visiting).

This will involve liaising with all relevant parties within the practice area and at the assigned University in order to gain the desired 50% theory and 50% practical element of the course. In order to attain successful completion, the student will be required to work as part of a multi -disciplinary team within the primary care setting, carrying out clinical duties with clients as agreed with their Practice Teacher. The student will be accountable to the respective local manager according to local management structures, and responsible to the allocated Practice Teacher for the term of training.

You will need to be a qualified Nurse or Midwife with a Nursing Diploma or equivalent also have an active NMC PIN. You must also be able to demonstrate continued professional development, awareness of evidence-based practice and government policy driving the public health agenda, and have excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
