SQL Server Consultant (Security Clearable)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Security Clearable SQL Server Consultant to join our Data Consultancy Practice within Computacenter. The role will primarily be based remotely but may involve regular UK wide travel. We work with a range of enterprise customers to engage in complex design, deployment, support and troubleshooting projects working individually and within a team of highly skilled architects, consultants, and project managers.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Practice Leader, joining an already healthy sized team, but due to pipeline we need additional talented individuals.

• Design and configuration of high availability and disaster recovery scenarios


• Designing robust implementation, migration, and test plans


• Database administration


• Performance optimisation - Queries, indexing, database design, storage


• Data integration - ETL/ELT


• Data security


• Proven troubleshooting skills


• Scalability


• Maintenance and operations


• Licensing, Data lake/Lakehouse technologies


• Oracle Database


• Snowflake


• Databricks


• Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning


• Data Governance


• Data Health and Hygiene
  
  Minimum 2 years' experience with SQL Server 2016, 2017, 2019 or 2022


• Proven experience with SQL Server Availability Groups and Failover Clustering


• A good knowledge of the SQL Server Business Intelligence tools


• Demonstrated ability to engage in IT discussions related to availability, scalability, business value, security management, disaster recovery, and backup and recovery


• T-SQL


• Experience with one or more Cloud Hyperscalers - AWS, Azure, GCP


• Microsoft certifications in SQL Server 2016 or above
