Full Job Description

We are looking for experienced and skilled mainstream practitioners to work in a Service which has considerable experience of trading with schools over fifteen years.

This post requires the ability to be skilled, organised and flexible in a high pressured environment. We welcome candidates with a strong customer care ethos in supporting schools to meet the needs of vulnerable pupils.

In particular, we are looking to recruit staff with a Postgraduate Qualification in Speech, Language and Communication Needs or specialist skills in supporting learners with Speech, Language and Communication Needs.

Key requirements

A qualified teacher, educated to degree level with a specialist SEND postgraduate qualification (or working towards one) and / or extensive experience in working with learners with Speech, Language and Communication Needs.

You will also have

  • significant and successful post qualification mainstream experience with up to date knowledge and understanding of SEND effective practice and issues;

  • the ability to influence and support senior leaders in schools and settings, promoting excellent, evidenced based practice to meet an increasingly diverse range of need and to influence practice at an earlier stage;

  • the ability to support schools to increase the knowledge and confidence of primary and secondary school staff in meeting the needs of CYP with SEND

  • the experience and expertise to empower families and service users;

  • the ability to work under pressure, meeting unpredictable deadlines and managing competing demands effectively;

  • the ability to be part of the 'team around the child', working flexibly, to develop and share creative approaches, positively influencing the practice of others through training and coaching., The Fluency Duty is outlined in the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers. The Fluency Duty for this role is Required. You must be able to speak and provide advice in accurate spoken English to the public.
