Specialist Medical Engineering Technician

The NHFM Medical Engineering Team are a highly cohesive team of around 20 Technicians based across 4 main sites at Wansbeck, North Tyneside, Northumbria and Hexham hospitals, providing technical support to clinical teams in maintaining approximately 28,000 medical devices throughout Northumberland. Patient safety is a priority and the team are committed to delivering the very highest quality technical service to the Trust., Working in a key role within the Medical Engineering Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintenance of a wide range of medical devices throughout their full lifecycle, from acceptance testing , carrying out planned and reactive maintenance , through to decommissioning of devices. Based at North Tyneside General Hospital, the successful candidate will be enthusiastic and self-motivated, be able to work unsupervised or as part of a team, often under pressure to meet tight deadlines, to ensure that medical devices are appropriately maintained and are available for clinical use. You will be qualified to HNC level in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or equivalent and have extensive knowledge and experience of maintaining complex electronic medical equipment, including anaesthesia delivery systems, patient ventilators and life support equipment.
