Full Job Description

The role is to work with secondary aged pupils with a range of needs such as Autism, Down Syndrome, Global Development Delay, Cerebral Palsy, SEMH. The lessons are energetic, fun and dynamic and we are looking for someone with previous experience as a support worker or within the classroom.

Some of the pupils display challenging behaviour so you could be expected to de-escalate behaviour and use positive behaviour management methods. You will be working as part of a supportive team of professionals who are committed to the well being of young people. You may be required to record and keep track of the pupils' progress.

    Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. we undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis.
