Full Job Description

Gem Partnership who are currently trading as a recruitment & Training business, we currently have a vacancy for a Shift Manager working 4 on/4 off rotational days and nights at Wynyard Park, Teesside. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Shift Manager is to hold responsibility for ensuring the effective, professional, and timely management of the operation during the shift, ensuring targets and budgets are met in accordance with customer and Company requirements.,

  • Provide leadership and direction to FLMs and Team Leaders

  • Manage costs, which include ownership of productivity and work study, in line with budget

  • Ensure the Health and Safety of all employees, in accordance with current legislation

  • Ensure Customer deadlines are met/exceeded to agreed relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)

  • Ensure Customer requests are completed as required and communicated effectively

  • Support continuous improvement,

  • Ensure correct daily staffing levels are sufficient to meet operational requirements

  • Liaise with external agencies and ensure legal compliance of Agency Worker Regulations

  • Undertake compliance reporting on all aspects of legislative, procedural and audit requirements

  • To oversee general housekeeping requirements of the warehouse

  • Communicates to shift / team on daily tasks, changes to working procedures, H&S, Audit etc.

  • Updates FLMs /Team Leaders on required targets / rates, and accuracy

  • Ensure there is an appropriate level of multi-skilled colleagues

  • Develops others to support the site talent and succession plan,

  • Demonstrates Values and ensures self and all colleagues adhere to the Company Code of Conduct

  • Resolve high level employee relations issues and manage absence

  • Ensures compliance to all HR Policies & Procedures

  • Maintains good working relations with Colleague Representatives

  • Supports and promotes Engagement and Charity initiatives

  • Carry out any other duties as directed by a member of the senior management team

    Previous experience of operating in a similar role

  • Good interpersonal, leadership and motivation skills at Supervisory Level

  • Customer Facing experience

  • ILM Certificate in Leadership & Management, Level 5, desirable

  • Good organisational and planning skills

  • Good analytical and numerical skills

  • Good communicator - both verbal and written

  • Coaching and development skills

  • Experienced in Health & Safety requirements, Disability Confident
