Full Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Developer for a dynamic contract role supporting our SEO roadmap. The SEO Developer will work closely with our marketing, content and web development teams to ensure our sites are optimised for search engines and user experience.

Please Note: This is a hybrid role; the candidate must be able to work at our Bolton offices on Tuesdays and Thursdays.,

  • Support the delivery of our SEO & Content Roadmaps across Parcel2Go and our White Label sites.

  • Collaborate with content and marketing teams to drive SEO & Content performance through on-site technical enhancements and improvements.

  • Support the technical implementation of SEO initiatives in collaboration with the SEO & Content team - component delivery, schema implementation, workflow automations etc.

  • Implement and maintain SEO-friendly website architecture and URL structure.

  • Work closely with the development team to ensure SEO best practices are properly implemented on newly developed code, sitemaps, robots.txt, new URL structures, routing, redirects, structured data incl schema, page speed etc.

  • Utilise analytics tools to monitor performance, identify issues, and measure the effectiveness of SEO strategies. (Jet Octopus, Google Search Console, SEM Rush, Screaming Frog)

  • Support with the delivery and technical migration of our site from legacy CMS to Contentful.

    Strong understanding of HTML & CSS with a keen eye for detail

  • Experience with JavaScript/Typescript and libraries, including React.js (LTS), Next.js, and Material-UI (4 & 5)

  • Experience working with component libraries (Storybook)

  • Basic knowledge of back-end development or ASP.NET is a plus., A good grasp of search engine algorithms and ranking methods & experience with SEO tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Moz, Screaming Frog) a plus but not a requirement.

  • Knowledge of headless CMS systems (familiarity with Contentful a plus) and their SEO implications.

  • Understanding of data layer best practices, Content Security policy best practice, cookie management.

  • Understanding of mobile strategy and how it relates to SEO.

  • Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience in web development.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience.
