Full Job Description

We have a fantastic and exciting opportunity for the right people who want to make a difference to young people and adults in the Dudley Disability Service.

Dudley Council is committed to ongoing improvement and achieving excellence. The service has a clear focus on positive life outcomes for all adults: opportunities to succeed in education and work; to live independently and healthily; to have relationships and friendships; and to be included and involved in their communities. Raising aspirations for disabled adults and those around them, as well as providing integrated, forward-thinking support, is critical for them to achieve their goals and have choice and control over their lives.

There is a recognition that to achieve this we need staff that feel supported, listened to and valued. We see supporting our staff's professional development by embracing flexible working, growing a learning and development culture within the service and a commitment to staff welfare is helping us to achieve this.,

  • Dudley Disability Service is looking to recruit two Senior Social Workers. This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to work with a developing and motivated team delivering strength-based assessments and identifying support with a focus on inclusion and independence. This enables a whole life approach to be taken when meeting the needs of people with disabilities. We are seeking to build on our early successes by recruiting the right people with the desired mind-set and required skill set to take the service to the next level.

  • The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice and will be part of a dynamic team which is caring and supportive. Our approach to ensure that adults with Learning Disabilities, Autism, Physical Disabilities and Neurological conditions, and their carers are supported to live healthy, safe, independent, and fulfilling lives, free from harm and abuse through the promotion of wellbeing and choice.

  • Whilst the post is Agile working there is an expectation to spend at least 2 days in the office.

Top tip when applying - As we've got a new recruitment system the application process has changed a little and we hope you'll like it!

  • You'll first need to register and create a profile the first time you apply.

Creating your profile will enable you do things such as track your application progress, view emails you've received from us and manage communication preferences, manage your interview bookings and offer information if successful.
