Full Job Description

Promote high standards of health and safety standards in accordance with company policy.

Design and drive continuous improvement plans, processes, and standard operating procedures.

Quality training to inspection staff.

Give clear directions to the manufacturing teams on areas for quality improvement.

Develop standards and policy to assist with continuous improvement.

Drive data led initiatives for improvement to product and standards of finish (Right 1st Time and Latent defects)

New product sign off at the development stage.

New product sign off in manufacturing. (wood mill and upholstery)

Report weekly and monthly to the manufacturing teams on quality performance and priorities.

Report monthly quality performance to the managing Director.

Attending Senior leadership meetings to deliver quality performance results.

Attending customer quality meetings on request.

Attending customers' stores and distribution centres to aid continuous improvement.

Host customers during factory visits for the purpose of product inspections.

Have accountability for factory audits. (kitemark, codes of practice)

Engage with suppliers on quality-related matters.

To have a visible presence at quality control workstations, giving clear direction to the inspection team to promote consistent examination and professional conduct.

Be the 1st point of contact for customers for the resolution of quality related issues.

Review complex service complaints to assist the service team in fault resolution.

Provide support to quality control supervisor to uphold quality standards.

Ensure quality policies and processes are being adhered to.

Maintain an efficient working quality team, and the coordination of resources to meet business needs.

Encourage and motivate the quality team to deliver on continuous improvement.

Build and maintain good working relationships with customers.

Key Tasks Defined

Product awareness

· Keep up to date with new model introductions and take personal responsibility for understanding model configurations and customer requirements.

· Be present to sign off new models introduced into the factory.

· Ensure specification sheets and configuration sheets are made available to Quality Control inspectors.

Department

· To ensure the quality control area is clean, tidy, safe & legal at all times ensuring that health and safety policy is strictly adhered to.

Team

· Manage the quality control teams holidays/sickness/Time off for dependants/Time keeping.

· Take prompt and appropriate action with regards to welfare or disciplinary action when required.

· To drive performance by motivating the quality team to prioritise inspections highlighted from right 1st time data top 3 results.

· Responsible for staff recruitment and appraisals.

Travel will be required to other sites and clients within this role.

This is not an exhaustive list, and you will be expected to be flexible in your approach to carrying out your duties, that may change from time to time to reflect changes in the Company's circumstances. In this respect you may be required to carry out any additional duties as requested by your Line Manager either on an ongoing or ad hoc basis.
