Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.

We are looking for someone who has experience and knowledge in the area of safeguarding adults, and a good understanding of the legislative and policy context. This is a key role in ensuring the Local Authority meets its statutory duties under the Care Act and enabling people in our community to live safely, free from abuse and neglect.

The successful candidate will provide high quality, regular, reflective supervision to our team members, and demonstrate a strong desire to enable all team members to pursue interests in the field to further their development.

On a day-to-day basis, you will quality assure and authorise safeguarding work, providing support to team members and offering advice to other practitioners within adult social care. You will offer regular positive feedback to support for the team and individuals.

You will offer quality support to team members where our work is with people experiencing complex situations and be adept at building partnerships within our organisation as well as with partners. You may provide support as chair of meetings and attend MARAC, MAPPA and MATAC meetings.

You will be adept at assessing risk and thinking outside of the box to mitigate risks, and skilled in the application of the Mental Capacity Act. Your decisions will be well reasoned, defensible and recorded and you will know when to seek support. Demonstrating professional competence and confidence, you will able to hold our organisation and others to account.

You will be supported by frequent high quality supervision, alongside other development opportunities.

If you are passionate about safeguarding adults at risk, we want to hear from you., As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C1: Can express him/herself fluently and spontaneously, almost effortlessly. Only a conceptually difficult subject can hinder a natural, smooth flow of language.
