Senior Buyer (SHON-CZJKY5)

As leader of the fast-paced and highly motivated JCB Service operational purchasing team, you will be responsible for an exciting and varied portfolio of suppliers, covering a number of key commodity areas, supporting JCB's dealers & customers globally.

Availability is critical to JCB's drive for the industry's finest customer support; you will be responsible to ensuring that parts are sourced from suppliers, fitting a number of fundamental criteria incorporating lead-times, value of parts, reliability of supply and support available from that supplier.

Furthermore, it has never been more important to source the right part, at the right cost. You will be the driver of instigating a number of re-sourcing and cost-down initiatives to best support the global customer base. You will be supporting the team to investigate opportunities for better purchasing, and form a strong working relationship with the strategic purchasing team.

The team has a number of key work-streams, and a large portion of this operates on SAP, where having the ability to learn new systems quickly is vital, and experience of previously using the system is preferable. As such, an understanding, and experience of SAP systems is very important.

You will lead the team to work closely with a number of cross-functional teams, including the Inventory Team, Customer Service, Technical Service, and global warehouse functions. Enquiries will be passed to the team via the global dealer network, and as such it's critical that you are able to respond quickly to these demands.

Having a customer-focused mindset is the final salient component of this role. If it is important to the customer, it is important to us. These requirements must be at the heart of what you do every day. Being able to respond quickly to requests, providing quotations, setting up new parts and re-sourcing parts to the most effective source will all be critical.

Finally, as the senior buyer, you will have at least four direct reports, responsible for supporting the development and support of these individuals. You will report to the Parts Inventory & Operational Purchasing Manager, and be pivotal to operations transformation within JCB Service.

• Work with the wider Group Purchasing teams to understand category and supplier strategies and ensure they are supported within the Service Unit, MCIPS or working towards
