Full Job Description

At IPS, you will apply your knowledge, skills, and passion to make a difference in the lives of people, solving complex challenges related to pharmaceutical, biotech, and animal health research and manufacturing facilities. We are looking for a Senior Buyer to join our team, based out of our office located in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
In this role, you will be responsible for the placement of purchase orders and coordinating activities involved with procuring goods and services such as process and utility equipment, trade subcontracts, and professional services. You will also be responsible for project-specific subcontracts and purchase orders (POs) and invoice tracking, shipping, and receipt documentation.

What You'll Do

  • Supply chain development.

  • Identify potential sources/partners and manage pre-qualification procedures.

  • Conduct competitive tenders for equipment and services on client programmes, subsequently leading in all stages of the inquiry process.

  • Manage progress reviews and expedite progress in the supply chain.

  • Compiling regular reporting data and presenting to client procurement groups.

  • Preparation of Purchase Orders / Contracts.

  • Prior experience in a procurement role.

  • Knowledge and experience of trade contracts and equipment procurement.

  • You may be required to travel for short durations periodically.


  • Preferred Qualifications
  • MCIPS qualified, Engineering, or related supply chain experience.

  • Supply Chain-related experience.
