Full Job Description

Hours of work: 7.00 am to 5.00 pm (including a daily lunch break)

Purpose of role:

To be proactive, energetic and responsible for supervising the delivery of excellent customer focussed and value for money programmes of work on behalf of the Bailey MK Project Management Team.

The role is responsible for daily checks at sites ensuring Operatives are working in line with project requirements. Duties include being a first point of contact for project team members, taking responsibility for health and safety compliance on-site liaising with site management teams, suppliers and subcontractors during the course of program completion.

What we are looking for in a Contracts Supervisor

A Contracts Supervisor needs to be organised, methodical and be able to prioritise their time effectively. A successful Contracts Supervisor has a creative approach to problem solving and remain flexible to alterations to plans and changing situations. They should be committed to keeping their core skills and knowledge up to date, by following industry updates and actively pursuing opportunities to improve their skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Ensure that the daily lists provided by the PMs / Ops Manager of checks and work to be undertaken for site visits are actioned. These will include stock takes (on site and in warehouse).

· Attend pre-start meetings with Ops Manager and Estimator.

· Confirm upcoming works are ready for operatives and confirm programmes are running correctly.

· Liaise with the Technical Manager on technical queries/concerns

· Instruct Technical Manager when to sign off.

· Organise deliveries with Yard staff.

· Organise for any excess materials to be moved to next property or compound and all are made aware so that next order can be edited.

· Communicate with site agent and operatives on site as required.

· Price sheets, van sheets, nails etc to be taken to operatives plus material if needed, always ensuring that there is communication with operatives or site agent before visiting site.

· Confirm workings on price sheets are appropriate and that fair labour allowance has been made. Raise queries relating to the above to the Ops Manager for clarification/adjustments.

· Prepare Project Specific Risk Assessments & Method Statements with sufficient detail and accuracy to ensure the planned work duly considers the health, safety and wellbeing of all persons that may be affected by our work activities.

· Complete regular reviews and update as necessary the Site Specific documentation, to ensure that it remain in-date at all times.

· Give Toolbox talks and complete site inspections, communicating with our H&S Department.

· To attend site meetings if required.

· To attend BMK Operations Meetings if required, arranging for all documentation to be available per site for meeting.

· Ensure end of day reports are sent to PM / Ops Manager for update and next days works required including labour allowance, technical requirements and answers for the following day.

· Confirming properties have been left in a clean and tidy state.

· Meeting sub contractors or client on site if required.

NB. At times, it may be necessary for the postholder to work as an operative. This is not envisaged to be a regular feature but may be required, for instance, in circumstances when a programme is behind schedule.
