Full Job Description

This is a Field Based/Remote. Working, with regional travel required covering Middlebrough to Sheffield. Typically we expect 3 days per week out in the assigned area.

Reporting to the Regional Business Partner, the Regional People Advisor is responsible for delivery of a people centric HR advisory service within an assigned region, aligned to the employee value proposition and people strategy.

The role is responsible for providing advice and guidance to people managers and employees on all people related issues, aligned to our employee value proposition, Company policies and procedures to drive employee advocacy. The role will manage employee relation cases and support organisational design and transformative change initiatives.

Successful delivery of the People Strategy takes place across the entire People Team. This role will need to work collaboratively with the wider People team to support People initiatives.,

  • Delivery of a customer focussed high quality and effective HR advisory service to employees and people managers on employment issues.

  • Influence, support, and coach managers on a full range of people management matters. including the investigation and disciplinary process, performance management, absence and capability etc.

  • Management of employee relations case work for the assigned area including investigation, disciplinary, grievances and appeal. Ensure a member of the People Partner team is present in all appropriate employee relation meetings, ensuring that conduct is always in line with the employee value proposition, and risks to the business are minimised.

  • Management of all absence cases including long term absence. Liaising with third party practitioners and occupational health to support employees back into work and provide guidance to managers on any adjustments or additional support that may be required.

  • Proactively build and maintain strong, professional, and effective working relationships with people managers, employees, and stakeholders.

  • Support employees across the group in the capacity as a Mental Health First Aider and promote other support available i.e. Employee Assistance Programme.

  • Deliver training on HR processes, procedures, and employment law through workshops and 1 to 1 sessions.

  • Work closely with the Regional Business Partnering team and wider People Team; ensure all business areas have the appropriate level of support.

  • Management of sensitive employee issues including death in service and terminal illness.

  • Support with organisational design, change, acquisition, TUPE initiatives.

  • Maintain accurate HR records, provide efficient administrative services. Capture, analyse and identify key trends

  • Undertake exit interviews; capture, analyse, and identify key trends.

  • Work within Company procedures, policies and initiatives, aligned to the employee value proposition to drive advocacy.

  • Manage employment tribunal cases, from ACAS conciliation through to settlement.

  • Support the Regional Business Partner to ensure performance conversations, promotions, reward and recognition, talent, and succession planning initiatives happen. Support the calibration and moderation processes to ensure consistency and fairness.

  • Support the Regional Business Partner to review engagement survey results, identify focus areas and create action plans. Understand key trends and feed these into people strategy.

  • Support the Innovation and Development Team with the design of people initiatives.

  • Work in partnership with wider People Team deliver a seamless and unrivalled employee experience.

  • Act as an ambassador for the People Team and ETEL's values and behaviours at all times.

    Comfortable with travel within assigned area.

  • Experience in a people advisory role, managing employee relation cases.

  • A comprehensive knowledge of good HR practices and processes.

  • Full UK Cat B drivers licence essential
