The Primary Care Careers team is well established in the NHS primary care environment and is now ready to position itself as a strategic partner to integrated care boards (ICBs) in delivering the desired outcomes of national agendas, such as the NHS Long Term Plan, at a local level.

Working within the Primary Care Careers team, the recruitment officer will support the delivery of an innovative and high quality, end to end recruitment service to GP practices and primary care networks (PCNs) across England.

Operating in a fast paced and challenging environment, using innovative and creative methods to attract candidates, the role will include supporting customers, candidates, stakeholders and colleagues.

Please note, due to the ongoing cost reduction programme and restructure underway at SNEE ICB (due to end in Summer 2024), prior consideration for this role may be given to existing staff who are affected by this programme and this role may be removed from the recruitment process at any time.

Main duties of the job

Support the delivery of sustainable solutions for current and future, permanent and temporary workforce recruitment challenges, across the customer base.

Contribute to the delivery of a robust recruitment plan (linked to the Primary Care Careers Strategy).

Responsible for tracking the entire recruitment journey from vacancy through to employment and regularly updating colleagues and customers with progress reports.

Build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, internal and external stakeholders and candidates to deliver high levels of customer service.

Provide support to hiring managers, candidates and stakeholders during the recruitment process.

Maintain knowledge of the candidate market, executing creative and innovative methods to attract a diverse range of applications.

Support the organisation and delivery of candidate attraction events and recruiter workshops.

Maintain knowledge and understanding of all PCC systems, to deliver an efficient recruitment process and ensure accurate data is held and distributed.

Work closely with the systems development manager to maintain and operate PCC systems.

Work closely with the communication and engagement lead to support recruitment campaigns and engagement.

Undertake specific projects to support the delivery of key objectives and strategic work streams.
