Quantity Surveyor / Estimator

Assess the viability and timeliness of project enquiries

- Explore and find tender opportunities

- Clarify client needs and expectations

- Read construction drawings and take measurements

- Calculate the cost of materials, labour, and equipment

- Obtain quotes from subcontractors and suppliers

- Compile bids for work and provide recommendations for cost reduction

- Oversee projects to ensure costs remain in line with forecasts

- Utilise relevant software such as Chalkstring, Excel, Word, and Outlook

- Adhere to risk assessments and health and safety requirements

- Stay up to date with the latest construction technology

- Liaise with construction managers, planners, and design teams

- Present bids to clients and answer their questions

- Prepare and submit quotations for work

- Track changes to design and construction work and adjust budget projections

- Select and source construction materials

- Measure and value work done on-site and submit applications for payment

- Process labour applications and approve payment to subcontractors

- Deal with financial and legal issues

If you have a sharp eye for detail, a knack for numbers, and love working with the latest construction software, come and join the team!, Experience in quantity surveying and estimating, Drylining experience is an advantage

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Excellent communication and negotiation skills

- Proficiency in relevant software and tools

- Relevant professional certifications or ideally working towards (e.g., RICS) qualifications in Quantity Surveying or related field preferred

- Must be currently based within the Midlands UK, this is a hybrid role with flexibility between WFH, site and office
