Full Job Description

Climate change is the biggest challenge facing our generation. The transition to clean energy is critical to helping us achieve the goal of reaching net zero carbon emissions by 2050. As National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET) is at the heart of energy in the UK, we have a big part to play in supporting the delivery of a decarbonised energy system.

We have an exciting opportunity for you to play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of quality and performance excellence throughout NGET by leading and delivering on key quality and business improvement initiatives that will make a difference.

You'll lead, develop and manage the quality and systems continuous improvement strategy and deliverables for NGET in accordance with operational and ISO 90001 requirements.

Providing quality specific support, you'll have overall responsibility for the effectiveness of the Quality Management System Processes, Document Framework, Quality Assurance and Systems for NGET. Engaging and collaborating with cross functional NGET management and stakeholders, you'll ensure quality specific continuous improvement initiatives and programmes are delivered from cradle to grave at pace.

In addition, you'll develop and implement corporate frameworks, processes, and innovative approaches to support NGETs improvement and transformation programmes.

This role is based out of our offices in Warwick and can be combined with hybrid working from home.

You'll have a Six Sigma or Lean continuous improvement qualification and a recognised project management qualification such as PRINCE2 or APM. An experienced change management practitioner, with exposure to quality management, you'll have practical experience of hands-on management of projects or programmes focused on service improvement, in a large matrix organisation.

With exceptional leadership skills, acting as a credible role model, with the ability to challenge, persuade and influence, you'll have experience of process mapping, process reengineering and process improvement.

In addition, you'll have experience of writing and presenting strategic reports on complex issues to senior stakeholders, and be used to leading change, projects and a direct or virtual team.

At National Grid, we work towards the highest standards in everything we do, including how we support, value and develop our people. Our aim is to encourage and support employees to thrive and be the best they can be. We celebrate the difference people can bring into our organisation, and welcome and encourage applicants with diverse experiences and backgrounds, and offer flexible and tailored support, at home and in the office.
