Full Job Description

The job entails a primary role in assisting management to ensure the safe and efficient execution of Mitie operations. The successful candidate will be tasked with establishing a comprehensive training plan, coordinating the ongoing training needs pertinent to the contract, and ensuring that training records are consistently updated to meet role-specific and SQEP (Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person) requirements.

Additionally, the role involves the production of regular and on-demand reports, such as SQEP Assessment status reports, complete with relevant timeframes. The oversight of the induction process for new starters is also a key responsibility, ensuring they meet mandatory eLearning requirements. This includes monitoring enrolment and managing the relationship with the Contractor training department for course bookings.

The position supports various aspects of the QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) function as needed. This includes participating in investigations, attending meetings, conducting audits, and delivering training. The aim is to maintain the QHSE function's efficiency and pragmatism across the Group. Furthermore, fostering a positive and proactive relationship with other QHSE team members is vital for the role's success.

The main responsibilities of the role include the development and execution of strategies to ensure that all staff members are either fully SQEP trained or have a comprehensive plan to achieve full training within the specified timeframes. It is crucial to maintain current knowledge of policies, procedures, SQEP obligations, and Mitie QHSE requirements to maximize team competence.

Operational managers and personnel must possess the necessary technical competence to perform their duties safely, which is ensured through the identification and provision of formal training. The role supports operational managers in learning and development, aiding in the identification and implementation of practical and effective safe working practices.

The position also involves providing advice and guidance to operational managers and employees on training and competency issues, ensuring that operational managers are informed of their legal and company responsibilities and are competent to fulfill these obligations.

Additionally, the role requires the investigation and management of all QHSE training and competency documentation related to potential or actual insurance claims. Keeping abreast of legislation and codes of practice relevant to the company's business is essential.

We are seeking a candidate who exhibits a high standard of written English and possesses outstanding verbal communication skills. Proficiency in computer usage, particularly with Microsoft Office, is essential. The ideal candidate should be capable of working independently and initiating tasks without supervision.

A background in health and safety is desirable, with a preference for candidates who have completed the IOSH Managing Safely or are actively pursuing the NEBOSH Certificate, coupled with Environment Awareness qualifications and relevant experience. Experience in regulated sites or industrial settings within multi-disciplinary organizations is also required.

The candidate should have an understanding of the Integrated Facilities Management sector, especially in Hard or Soft Services, where applicable. A full UK driving license is necessary for the role. Additionally, the candidate should be knowledgeable in risk assessment and management.

The role demands working in a commercial, client-facing environment and the ability to effectively manage meetings. The candidate must also be adept at delivering training on a variety of QHSE topics and conducting inductions.
