Full Job Description

Reporting to the Senior People Experience Business Partner, this role will combine generalist HR support to various functions within Volvo Car UK and delivery of HR projects across the wider UK market. You will provide the people expertise to your dedicated business areas and be accountable for ensuring all HR processes, practices and systems are followed.

You will be owning and administering reward, recognition and benefits programs to employees, and supporting the Experience & Engagement team with delivering internal HR communications, Diversity & Inclusion and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. You will provide support to Employee Relations cases across the market, assisting the Senior People Experience Business Partner and more junior members of the team.

We are one of the fastest growing premium car brands looking for an innovative and passionate People Experience Business Partner on a full-time basis to join our team based in the UK, at either our Maidenhead or Daventry offices.

What you'll do
This is a varied People Experience Business Partner role that will combine generalist support to the people population and HR project delivery. You will be the first point of contact for all HR related queries in your dedicated business areas and accountable for supporting all operational HR activities including restructures, succession planning, absence management, policy development, employee relations, performance management, onboarding and offboarding. You will ensure all HR project related processes and systems are followed and independently conduct investigations, disciplinaries and grievances.

Working alongside the Learning & Development team you will develop solutions to help the business area to deliver its strategy. You will be responsible for providing recruitment support to managers working closely with our in-house recruitment team based in Sweden.

A proactive and innovative approach is required in order to create and implement new HR initiatives and identify areas of improvement and possible solutions. You will be data driven and provide insights from the management of information and data. You will communicate with employees at all levels of the business.

We are less interested in which sectors you've worked in previously but will want to hear about examples of how you have made a difference in your previous and current roles. You will need to demonstrate resilience and the ability to adapt in a fast paced and ambiguous environment, with constantly evolving targets and business requirements.

Previous experience of working in a similar role, providing advice and support to Managers and employees on a wide range of complex HR related issues is key. A track record in improving HR practices, using technology to drive communications and operational efficiencies is essential. You will be highly organized with the ability to multi-task and prioritise.

You will have the ability to build effective relationships with a variety of different people and be a collaborative team player. You will have excellent communication skills both verbal and written and will have an approachable manner. Working in HR requires you to be able to demonstrate that you can handle sensitive and confidential information. To be successful in the role you will be a self-starter, have excellent attention to detail, be able to work under your own direction and use your initiative. An up to date understanding of UK Employment Law will be important for this role.

Microsoft office skills are essential. Experience in using SAP or Success Factors is preferred but not critical. Ideally educated to degree level or studying towards (an HR related qualification is preferred) or you will have equivalent experience.

As we have employees located across both of our Maidenhead and Daventry offices, the ability to travel between both sites regularly would be a key requirement for the role. Due to public transport constraints at these locations, it is preferred that applicants hold a full UK driving license.

Volvo Cars' continued success is the result of a collaborative, diverse, and inclusive working environment. Today, we are one of the most well-known and respected car brands, with over 40,000 employees across the globe. At Volvo Cars, your career is designed around your talents and aspirations so you can reach your full potential.

For the right person, an inspiring, and creative workplace awaits. Did you know that every Volvo Cars employee worldwide has the right to our Family Bond, our new all-gender, paid parental leave policy? You'll also enjoy a culture and benefits package that's made us one of the world's most awarded and progressive employers.

By 2025, we aim to sell 1.2 million cars annually, 50% of which will be electric vehicles and sold directly to customers through digital channels. Join us on the journey of a lifetime as we create the driving and electrification technologies of tomorrow.
