Machining Production Manager

As a Machining Production Manager, you will oversee the performance of the operational team to deliver all production targets by ensuring volume, quality and associated scorecard metrics are met.

You will report directly to the Senior Machining Manager for Operations at JLR's state of art facility, the Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre (EPMC) in Wolverhampton

You will oversee the management of Module 4 machining operations. Which is the EPMCs newest machining facility, which produces 6-cylinder diesel and 4 and 6-cylinder petrol cylinder blocks, cylinder heads and crankshafts.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

• 
  Responsible for managing a production area including the control and organisation of all manufacturing activities and associated safety, quality, people, delivery, cost and environment metrics are achieved
  
• Manage all activities to develop the team ensuring every employee has access to the learning and development, motivation and communication required to deliver the business plan objectives


• Review volume capacity, identify and eliminate bottle necks through close management of robust plans


• Ensure internal and external quality metrics are achieved and robust action plans are in place for the continuing achievement and maintenance of quality standards

  Production management experience, including consistent delivery of productivity targets in manufacturing.


• Experience of managing multi-skilled teams in multi-shift operations


• Leadership skills with strong coaching and developing capabilities.


• Experience of manufacturing (ideally engine components) and delivery processes and procedures


• Engineering/manufacturing processes, tools and techniques


• A logical approach to problem solving


• Experience of delivering safety metrics


• Ability to work within tight deadlines & be able to manage and prioritise multiple activities simultaneously


• Experience and working knowledge of Health and Safety audits and ergonomics including risk assessments
