Full Job Description

Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council's Urban Design & Building Services team is looking to employ a Lead Energy Officer on a permanent contract. In a rapidly changing environment, we are looking for a highly motivated individual to work alongside a creative, multi-disciplinary team of professionals including Architects, Structural Engineers, Property Surveyors, Energy Management and Mechanical and Electrical Engineers

The successful candidate will form part of the Energy & Climate Change Team who are responsible for overseeing the Building Energy Management Systems, utility contracts and ensuring compliance with energy regulations (such as DECs and EPCs), with a focus on reducing carbon emissions across the corporate and school estates. The position will have a key role in the management of the BEMS and the Council's utilities using Energy Monitoring and Targeting software, Systems Link. The post will report to the Principal Lead for Energy and Climate Change and support in delivering real change through a range of carbon reduction initiatives, from energy audits through to the installation of renewable and low carbon technologies.

This vacancy is ideal for a suitably qualified person looking for the opportunity to support the residents of Sandwell and reduce carbon emissions. The minimum requirement for this post is membership of a recognised professional Institute, or other appropriate qualification with 5 years significant demonstrable knowledge and experience.
