Full Job Description
As the Irrigation Assistant, you will report directly to the Irrigation Manager and your role will involve but not be limited to the following:
- Timely and correct irrigation of raspberry and blueberry crops
- Conducting regular water testing
- Monitoring fertigation programs and their effectiveness
- Irrigation equipment installation, maintenance and operation
- Glasshouse maintenance and climate control
No previous experience needed, full training will be provided to the right candidate - Ability to work weekends and overtime during the growing season
- Knowledge of irrigation systems can be advantageous (AdCon, PRIVA, or Hoogendoorn)
- Basic computer skills and use of Microsoft Office
- Full clean driving license
- Attention to detail
- Organisation and planning skills
- Communication skills (being able to communicate with colleagues, workers, sometime non-English speakers)
- Capability of independent work
- Willingness to learn
Woodfields Fruit Ltd is a family run business and we specialise in soft fruit production. We are located in Herefordshire.
We grow three different varieties of raspberries both in polytunnels and glasshouses over 18 Ha, harvesting 500 tonnes of fruit each year. Our young and expanding blueberry enterprise is grown under 10 Ha of polytunnels.
