Health Care Assistant

Working under the direct supervision of the Practice Nurse and alongside other HCA's in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the Healthcare Assistant will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of patient care.

This includes a number of clinical roles; including phlebotomy, health checks and Chronic Disease Management.

• Blood Pressures Monitoring


• Assisting with Infection Control - Deputy Lead


• New Patient Health Checks/NHS Health Checks


• Smoking Cessation


• Assisting in minor surgery


• Urinalysis


• Wound Management


• Assisting with stock checks/rotation and ordering


• Assisting with Vaccinations as directed - Influenza/Pneumococcal/B12/Shingles


• Ear Irrigation


• ECG's


• Sutures & Clip removal


• Knowledge of assisting GP with minor surgery and other LTC clinics


• Asthma/Diabetes/Hypertension/CHD/Heart Failure/Learning Disability Reviews


• Spirometry
  
  Healthcare Assistant required - Experience in working in general practice (GP Surgery), GCSE or equivalent (preferred), GP surgery: 1 year (required)
