Full Job Description

  • Deliver a flexible and innovative curriculum that is responsive to feedback from current learners and anticipates likely changes in demand from future learners.

  • Deliver excellent standards of teaching and learning across all areas within the curriculum area.

  • Undertake the day-to-day co-ordination of staff within the course team so that the College can achieve its overall objective of being excellent in all areas.

  • To complete and support staff with all internal and external verification processes

    Based in our Academic & Creative Studies Department, we are looking for an enthusiastic, suitably qualified individual to lead on the development, delivery and teaching of our T Level Science courses. As well as being an inspiring lecturer with the ability to enable all learners to reach their true potential, you will hold an appropriate subject qualification to degree level along with a Level 5 teaching qualification such as the Diploma in Education and Training (formerly DTLLS) or equivalent.


  • This is a full-time position across both our Newcastle & Stafford sites. The ideal candidate will have experience of teaching on science based courses which could include the T Level in Science, Btec Level 3 Science and/or an A Level science. The ideal candidate will also be able to demonstrate experience of leading and developing science based programmes.,
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE or DTTLS).

  • Has a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.

  • Has a detailed knowledge and understanding of current teaching practice within the curriculum area of Btec Science and T Level Science.

  • Has teaching experience of A Level and /or T Level programmes would be desirable.

  • Is well organised and able to manage the peaks and troughs of a varied workload.

    In November 2019 Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG) became the first further education provider in England to achieve outstanding grades in every area of Ofsted's recently reformed Education Inspection Framework (EIF).


  • The inspection report praised all areas of the College's provision and acknowledged NSCG's 'positive, stimulating and safe learning environment', 'highly motivated staff', and 'learners' exemplary behaviour and attitudes to learning'.
