Full Job Description
- To contribute to the effective day to day operation of the scheme in accordance with the Home-Start Memorandum & Articles of Association, Home-Start, Standards & Methods of Practice, Home-Start Agreement and Quality Assurance Standards.
- To maintain high standards of practice in supporting families within the Home-Start model
- To ensure equality of opportunity, fairness and diversity in all aspects of the scheme's work.
- Implement good safeguarding practice in all areas of work
- Provide support to families within the Borough of Kettering, ensuring their needs are met effectively.
- Collaborate with the manager to deliver appropriate support services tailored to each family's requirements.
- Conduct home visits, prioritising the dignity and identity of every individual.
- Cultivate meaningful relationships with families, fostering understanding and trust.
- Empower parents, nurturing their strengths and emotional well-being for the betterment of their children.
- Offer reassurance to families, highlighting the normalcy of parenting challenges and celebrating the positive aspects of family life.
- Ensure adherence to robust safeguarding practices in all aspects of work.
- Coordinate group support initiatives, including activity organisation and provision of guidance.
- Supervise and support volunteers, ensuring their training and effectiveness.
- Conduct family assessments and provide guidance as necessary.
- Collaborate with the Home-Start team to uphold equity, equality, diversity, and inclusion principles.
- Forge partnerships with external organisations and agencies to enhance family support services.
- Maintain accurate documentation of family support activities.
- Participate in regular meetings and training sessions as required.
- Experience in social work, counselling, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse families.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and relevant legislation.
- Excellent organisational abilities, including time management and record-keeping.
- Collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively within a team and with external partners.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by families and a non-judgmental approach.
- Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Commitment to promoting the well-being of families and children.
- Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of families and the organization.
Main Responsibilities
The post holder may be required to undertake any other duties that fall within the nature of the role and responsibilities of the post as detailed above.
Note: This is a part-time role which requires some flexibility in scheduling throughout the year, including throughout school holidays
