Full Job Description

· Undertake assessments with families regarding their suitability and motivation to access the project

· Develop effective safety and support plans in line with the anticipated project outcomes and deliver in conjunction with families and through liaison with relevant services as required

· Manage and support a caseload of men and women in acknowledging and addressing their unhealthy and abusive behaviour

· To develop and effectively deliver a package of individual and group interventions for families affected by domestic abuse ensuring they are run within the safety and quality guidelines as dictated by Respect, with the aim of achieving Respect accreditation.

· Continually monitor and manage risk to victims of domestic abuse and their children.

  • Must be able to demonstrate equivalent skills and experience to undertake the role;


  • - Experience of working with families who have experienced domestic abuse

    - Experience of using motivational interview techniques and/or CBT in

    working with individuals to empower change.

    - Evidence of engaging with individuals resistant to support.

    - Experience of developing and running group programmes.

    - Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft applications.

    · Ability to deal with a high volume of work efficiently and effectively

    · Able to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a pressurised environment
  • Must have excellent, verbal and written communications skills including having first class report writing skills

  • An understanding of the complexities and dynamics associated with domestic abuse and impact within families.

  • Commitment to positive change and empowerment of victims of domestic abuse
