Full Job Description
- Cleaning of all hard and soft floors including machine scrubbing, buffing of floors, carpets (shampooing/steaming) on a scheduled and ad hoc basis.
- Emptying of domestic waste bins and removal to dedicated waste locations.
- Make sure equipment is cleaned, maintained, and stored correctly.
- You will be carrying out a range of cleaning activities including mopping, sweeping, dusting, emptying bins and cleaning washrooms.
- Polishing wood / metal furniture and metal brightwork.
- To understand the units working pattern so you do not conflict with the units daily working pattern
- Participate in any communication activities through formal and informal channels on safety matters to ensure that there is a free flow of ideas.
- Ensure that you have received the necessary training so that you can competently carry out your duties and responsibilities. Acknowledge and accept a personal responsibility for safety.
- You will be required to work closely with the Group Health and Safety team who are available to provide safety advice and support. Furthermore, you will be required to ensure that safety initiatives are implemented within your areas of control.
- Take responsibility for ensuring that plant and equipment is maintained and fit for purpose.
- To always achieve a consistent standard of cleanliness and appearance throughout all buildings. To ensure that standards are being met consistently.
Good attention to detail - To be reliable and responsible with a flexible approach to work
- Cleaning experience within an educational environment desired but not essential as full training will be provided
- The ability to be able to communicate effectively in English
