BAM needs people who have a passion for digital and technology, who understand how it can be applied to help us change this industry into one fit for the future.
If you're curious about how the construction industry is evolving and using digital tools to achieve optimum performance of built envrionment and infrastructure projects then join our Digital Engineering Apprenticeship programme.

With this Apprenticeship you can complete a Level 3 Digital Engineering Technician standard. Our Apprenticeship will be a full-time role from Monday to Friday.

Your mission

The role will focus on supporting the adoption of selected digital construction tools to improve efficiency and communication to achieve the best for project outcomes.
As an apprentice you will be placed in a supportive environment to receive training and guidance from an experienced digital team in the workplace and an innovative training partner in the classroom.

You will be assigned a mentor who can provide the 'on the job' support and guidance as you develop into the role.

You will learn to;

  • Assist in the provision of accurate and clear model information for collaboration purposes, 4D planning and 5D cost estimation and management.

  • Support the use of digital site data capture systems in accordance with the project specification and in compliance with BAM procedures.

  • Provide training and technical support in the use of technology to site teams.

  • Stay abreast of industry developments identifying new innovative technologies that could add value to existing workflows such as AR or scanning technologies or new automations.

  • GCSE or equivalent 5 (Grade A-C (9-4))

  • GCSE or equivalent English (Grade A-C (9-4))

  • GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade A-C (9-4))

  • A Level or Btec or equivalent


  • A driving licence is needed for this role due to the nature of the role, you may be required to work across a number of projects.

    Digital Engineering Technician Apprenticeship

    BTEC level 3 in Construction and the Built Environment

    NVQ level 3 Diploma in Built Environment Design

    Your training will be delivered by
    T3 Training and Development
    through a 9 week block followed by weekly day release at college.

    All accomodation arrangements for the block training are taken care of and paid for by BAM.

    When you're not at college, you will be learning from industry specialists on one of our sites across the UK.

    Following completion you are able to progress your career within our Digital Project Solutions team and undertake further apprenticeship training if desired
