Full Job Description

At Honda we embrace inclusion in our various policies, so whilst our contracts state that the hours are as required to fulfil the role with a minimum of 35 hours per week, we offer flexibility for when you work. The regular office hours are 08:00 - 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a half hour lunch break & 08:00 - 13:00 on a Friday. However, we offer flexibility of when you work with our daily flex-time start of between 07:00 and 11:00 providing that there is no business requirement.

Whilst there is no contractual right to work from home, the flexibility we offer is that you can request to work from home for a maximum of 50% of the working days in any one month, again providing there is no business requirement to attend the office.

Role:

The Supply Chain Department of Honda Motor Europe (HME) Motorcycle Division is responsible for ensuring the maximum satisfaction of Honda's European customers on product availability by balancing the need for smooth Factory production & logistics while still matching customer & sales requirements.

This role will make a fundamental impact to Honda's European motorcycle business as a centre by planning on the products supply to the markets while making sure maximum profitability both locally in Europe and worldwide. It will also provide an excellent opportunity to gain grounding in motorcycle supply chain within the complex motorcycle markets.

Reporting to Supply Chain Department Manager, the successful candidate will enjoy rare, growing and ever-changing challenges within our European and global organisation.

Main Responsibilities:

Overall

  • Balance customer & sales requirements with Factory production & logistics constraints by matching orders from our branches & distributors with factories production plans.

  • Anticipate, analyse and apply counter-measures on supply problems in order to achieve maximum sales with minimum sales stock and maximum production efficiency, still sustaining customer requirements.

  • Ensure good communication between sales, factory and logistics from order to delivery for our branches & distributors.


  • Monthly Supply Operation
  • Master Data Maintenance in PLS (Pan-European Logistics System) system and EPP (European Product Planning) and ONO (one Niguri Operation) systems.

  • Order & Production Allocation Management:

  • + Collect, consolidate & submit orders from our branches & distributors to the factories.
    + Prepare presentation and attend Sales & Production Meeting with factories.
    + Allocate production capacity plan supplied by factories to the branches and distributors.
    + Coordinate type and colour fix of allocated production plan to branches & distributors.
  • Presentation material preparation for Sales & Operation Planning Meeting.

  • Weekly and ad-hoc Supply Information management for Branches/Distributors (shipping information, branches stock, etc.).

  • Supply Issue solving - day to day management of production and logistics issue resolution.

  • French Translation Label (FTL) management - manage the FTL stocks and procurement with HME-L Spare Parts division.


  • Project Work
  • Project work as necessary and process improvement work on an ongoing basis.

    Excellent numerical and logical analytics skills with very high level of accuracy - a logical thinker, with a methodical approach.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Presentation and general communication.

  • Microsoft Excel - advanced level (lookups, pivots - must / Macro, power pivots - desirable).

  • Planning and organisation skills.

  • Negotiation skills - balance of Win/Win with Branches and Factories.

  • Supply chain / planning knowledge and experience - Good understanding on demand & supply planning, production & logistics processes.


  • Willing to learn new operations and continuously develop both operational and personal skills.

  • Self-starter, with ability to work on own initiative to prioritise tasks and projects in order to meet deadlines.
