Full Job Description

Adjusters have the job of thoroughly investigating a claim, determining if payment is warranted, negotiating a financial settlement, and authorising payments to the Insured.,

  • Receiving and acknowledging new claims.

  • Managing, coordinating, and processing claims in a timely and professional manner.

  • Instructing and managing surveyors, lawyers, and other experts as necessary.

  • Attending meetings with Insurers, Reinsurers, Brokers, Claimants, Insureds and other interested parties as necessary.

  • Preparing reports commenting in detail on all aspects of the claim including legal and policy liability considerations, potential quantum, and future actions.

  • Communicating regularly with all interested parties, calculating and approving interim payments, preparing interim reports and other communications.

  • Calculating and agreeing settlement of claims and preparing accurate final reports.

  • Undertaking market research and collating key Marine market developments and trends.

  • Working with the team to promote the Yacht Practice and wider Marine services to existing and potential clients.

  • Building and maintaining relationships with existing and potential clients.

  • Travelling as necessary to attend key business development and marketing events.

  • Identifying and referring business leads to management.

  • Promoting CTA Marine services internally throughout the group, achieving cross selling wherever possible.

  • Carry out Ad Hoc duties and tasks that are allocated to you at the discretion of management and that are within your capabilities and within the scope of your post.

  • Demonstrate and champion Charles Taylor Values by ensuring Agility, Integrity, Care, and Accountability and Collaboration.

    3 - 5 years' experience handling Marine Insurance claims, exposure to Yacht or Cargo Claims is preferable but not mandatory.

  • Higher level education in a relevant field of study.

  • Enthusiastic, flexible, and adaptable approach to work.

  • Be confident and articulate with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency with MS Office including Excel.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • The ability to work under pressure with conflicting demands.

  • The ability to plan and manage workload to ensure deadlines are met.

  • The ability to build professional relationships quickly.

  • Strong organisational skills and effective diary management.
