You would join us in making a difference to traumatised children, showing them that there is more to life than what they currently know and helping them to become the best that they can be.

You will work in a gorgeous home with a family feel to the working environment; a very supportive leadership team will be wrapped around you., · Build positive professional working relationships with the team around the child.

· Be flexible in your working pattern to support the needs of the home, this will involve some 15 hour shifts working directly with the children and some shorter days where you will be supernumerary.

· You will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day care provided for children within a small group home is nothing but Outstanding.

· You will ensure that all relevant paperwork is completed on each shift and will be responsible for ensuring that your team members understand their role and adheres to this. You will delegate tasks to others as set out by your line manager in accordance with the children's homes regulations 2015.

· You are responsible for each shift that you are part of and must ensure that high levels of primary care and safeguarding measures are always upheld. This means the home must always be maintained to a high standard and any shortfalls are highlighted and actioned to improve practice.

· All children have the right to privacy, dignity, choice, to be supported in taking considered risks, and to make decisions about their own lives. Our team members need to respect and show proper regard for everyone's cultural identity and individual needs and preferences in all aspects of their care. You will lead the way in helping others to communicate where there are communication differences or difficulties.

· You will be responsible for ensuring you uphold and adhere to the policies and procedures in place within the company in all aspects of the business relating to your role. You will be supported as part of your development as a trainee manager to be able to review policies and procedures accordingly and introduce any new matters.

· You will line manage therapeutic parents, and delegate tasks, ensuring these meet the expectations of the role and meet the policies and procedures of the company. This includes all relevant daily paperwork, risk management, health and safety, and all other relevant statutory paperwork found within the Children's Homes Regulations 2015.

· You will keep up to date with safeguarding legislation relating to children and young people and ensure you uphold any training you receive in all aspects of your role, acting as a role model/mentor to those who you are line managing. You will know the procedures to follow should there be a safeguarding concern and how to record as such. You will be able to complete investigations where necessary in the absence of your line manager. You should always lead by example.

· You have a duty of care to ensure that each child you work with has access to education tailored to their individual need and must ensure that you are working with education professionals and your line manager to achieve this for each child.

· You are responsible for ensuring each child within the home has been registered to a local GP, opticians, and dentist, and attends regular appointments. You should also ensure that children are encouraged to maintain a healthy well-balanced diet, with any concerns highlighted to professionals where needed.

· You will ensure children maintain relationships with their family where appropriate and the care plan for each child is always upheld. Where there are gaps in this for a child, you are responsible for addressing this with the social care team alongside your line manager.

· As trainee manager you are responsible for keeping the recording system up to date, ensuring paperwork is reviewed accordingly, and used as working documents to promote improvement of service.

· The company uses an online recording service. As a trainee manager you will oversee the running of these records to ensure children are receiving the correct support, any concerns should be highlighted and actioned. You will review this upon arriving on shift for previous days, send off any reports to social workers where necessary and prepare reports for any upcoming meetings.

· As a trainee home manager, you are responsible for ensuring that new team members are welcomed and supported during their induction. There is a clear induction process which must always be followed.

· You will learn how to maintain rota management and ensure the rota for the home is fit for purpose and the team on shift are trained accordingly.

· You will be a go to person for your team, supporting them every step of the way. You are responsible for addressing concerns with therapeutic parents where there is poor performance and can incorporate personal improvement plans if this does not improve after guidance. You will work closely with your line manager with regards to the implementation of this.

· You will have on call duties which will be on a rota basis.

· You will work closely with your manager and will run the home in their absence.

· As a trainee manager you are part of the management team and must conduct yourself as such. You must not engage in any negativity amongst the team and should address this quickly where there are concerns.

· You will actively promote the individual's effective communication and relationships with others.

· You will always ensure that information about individuals is treated with respect and confidentiality: when receiving information, giving information, storing, and retrieving information.

· You will take part in leading in team meetings and contributing to meeting objectives of company.

· You will be provided with excellent training opportunities to support you with your role into management.

You will support the manager in leading a deeply nurturing and therapeutically trained team to provide high quality care to children. You will understand the complex relationships that children have experienced, and through patience, consistency, time, and empathy you will strive to show them that there is another way. You will hold the relevant qualification (diploma level 3 / 4) and you will have relevant experience leading shifts in a therapeutic children's residential home. You will be trained in accordance with standards within residential care, our Love-Led approach and trauma and attachment informed practice. You will have good knowledge of the legislation surrounding children who are looked after and will be truly passionate about leading the way in making a positive difference to children's lives.
