Full Job Description

We are looking for a friendly, dynamic and committed fundraising professional, who is passionate about making a difference in their local community. You will be ambitious, confident and enjoy engaging business and community supporters.

If you are a real people person, organised, have excellent communication skills and you are a team player, we want to hear from you.

You will love building relationships, public speaking and working closely with volunteers and will be capable of inspiring and influencing others. You will also use your creative skills to develop and implement innovative ideas for generating income.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and retaining a diverse range of relationships with local businesses and community supporters. You will also manage a key fundraising activity each year, and therefore need evidenced experience of leading your own project. You will provide excellent support and guidance to current and new supporters in their fundraising activities. Engaging with local businesses and a broad spectrum of community groups, you will work to maximise income through building strong relationships across Dorset.

You will have excellent written, verbal and networking skills, be highly organised with the ability to multi-task, project manage and carry out your own administration. In particular, you will be a confident speaker, capable of delivering inspiring pitches and influencing potential and existing supporters.

This role will offer hybrid working and hours can be worked over 4 or 5 days a week. Occasional evening and weekend work will be required, so some flexibility over working hours would be key. A full driving licence and use of a car for business purposes are essential.

When you join Julia's House, you are not just joining a local charity; you are becoming part of our family. We were named as the UK's 'Best Charity to Work For' in the prestigious Best Companies Awards 2023 and our service is rated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) as 'Outstanding'., Julia's House is an award-winning children's hospice charity dedicated to bringing comfort and care to families across the two counties.

Each family we support is unique and so is the care we provide. When a family finds out that their child has a very serious medical condition, which is life-limiting or life-threatening, their world falls apart. Julia's House exists to help these children and their families.
