Full Job Description

  • Cutting cleaning and prepping steel before beginning the welding process

  • Keeping on top of the work area making sure it is safe and tidy

  • Welding/fabrication and cleaning of non structural stock parts

  • Assembling finished parts onto the job under supervision

  • Helping and assisting senior members of staff with a variety of jobs and learning on the job


  • The training you will be getting

    You will be working towards gaining the skills, knoweldge and behaviours required to obtain the Level 3 Metal Fabricator apprenticeship standard qualification;

    Metal fabricator / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education

    You will be required to attend college at the London Rd Campus 2 days per week for the first year, with the remainder of the working week based in the workplace.

    Communication skills, IT skills, Attention to detail, Organisation skills, Problem solving skills, Logical, Team working, Creative, Initiative, Non judgemental, Patience, Physical fitness, GCSE or equivalent Maths and English (Grade 4 / C or above) Essential

    Forestry Transport Maintenance Ltd (FTM) is a small but successful family business supply the forestry transport industry with trailers crane and bodies along with service and repairs.
