Full Job Description

This is an exciting role, working for an award winning and fast growing Financial Planning firm. As an Acquisition Analyst, you will be assisting the business by conducting financial analysis, researching potential acquisition targets, and presenting recommendations to senior management.

You will play a key role in supporting Attivo's growth plans by conducting thorough analysis and due diligence on potential acquisition targets. You will work closely with Senior Leadership to evaluate investment opportunities, assess financial performance, and identify strategic fit within the firm's growth objectives. Your analytical insights and recommendations will inform decision-making processes and contribute to the successful execution of acquisition initiatives.

You will be an ambassador of Attivo, representing its core values and company behaviours, raising the profile of the business and the profession with internal and external stakeholders.

This is a hybrid role, with weekly attendence required at our Cheltenham Head Office and travel will be expected to acquiring offices around the UK. As a business, we fully support hybrid working and have both working from home and flexible working policies.,

  • Research and analyse financial data and other information about target companies to determine their value and potential risks

  • Create presentations and reports outlining findings and recommendations for the acquiring company

  • Help negotiate the terms of the deal and may help with due diligence where applicable

  • Work closely with other professionals, such as investment bankers, lawyers, and accountants.

  • Stay up to date with industry trends and regulatory changes that may affect mergers and acquisitions.

  • Assist in managing the deal pipeline tracker.

  • Prepare and organise the relevant transaction documents where applicable.

    You are an experienced Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) professional, and ideally currently working within the IFA industry.


  • You are able to strategic thinking and a forward-looking mindset, capable of assessing acquisition opportunities within the broader context of the firm's growth objectives and competitive landscape. You are able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, articulating complex financial concepts and analysis in a clear, concise manner. You are able to tailor your communication style to different audiences, whether presenting findings to senior management, collaborating with internal teams, or engaging with external stakeholders, such as Vendors.

    You are a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, financial acumen and a collaborative, results driven approach. You are motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, drive positive change, and help shape the future growth and prosperity of the firm through strategic acquisitions and investments.

    Essential skills and experience

  • Previous experience working within a similar role is essential.

  • Experience working within Merger and Acquisitions (Experience of acquisitions in an IFA industry is highly desirable).

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Must be able to work under tight deadlines and be comfortable with handling confidential information.

  • Impressive communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Business acumen and industry knowledge.

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving.

  • Excellent attention to deal.

  • Appropriate professional qualifications to underpin your knowledge, this could be in Accounting, Business or Financial Planning/Investments.

    Up to £50,000 depending on experience
