Full Job Description

Hain Daniels are currently recruiting for a Weekend Shift Engineer at our Fakenham site. Fakenham is our dedicated Meat Free facility, producing vegetarian products for The Unbelievable ALT. brand and under license for Linda McCartney Foods.

As a Weekend Shift Engineer you will be a key player in the asset care program to deliver improved site reliability.

Key focus is Planned maintenance and Overhaul works in non-production times, Fri, Sat and Sunday.

Rotated Monday morning start up to support Engineering and Production alike, 6 to 10am.

These works will be a combination of 100 year fixes and routine PPM's across multiple Production lines.

Working as part of a small team but must have the capability and drive to work on his or her own.

To work with departmental leaders and others developing a pride in the work areas keeping them clean, tidy and ensuring works do not compromise safety or quality.

Promote team work across all functions including Production, Technical, Hygiene and Product Development.

You will support all aspects of the operation to ensure products are manufactured in a safe, hygienic, and efficient manner.

You are to ensure individual accountability for best practice and keeping skills up to date

You will also be required carry out any other duties as reasonably requested by Engineering Team leader.

Key Accountabilities

Ensure that performance of plant is maintained at agreed levels - aim of 100%:

Planned maintenance, Overhaul works and CI Improvements during non-Production times.

These works will be planned through our CMMS system and allocated via team leader.

Duties will include both Mechanical (80%) and Electrical (20%) works on packaging lines and supporting process equipment, normally found in food manufacture.

As part of a small team you fill be expected to work in a flexible manner both on your own or as part of the team, to ensure all planned works are completed.

As a qualified Engineer we expect you to be forth coming with ideas and initiative's to optimise line efficiency.

Encourage an open communication culture between departments. (Engineering, Technical, Production, Planning , NPD, and Hygiene)

To be a role model for the Operatives in assisting and driving the agreed standards with shift and site managers, Assist with Instruction and demonstration of efficient machine operation with Production, Hygiene and Technical as required on start up.

Completion of maintenance projects:

Modifications, or process upgrades

Continuous improvement

Additional projects as needed or requested on an on-going basis

i.e. Water, Air, Gas, Electricity, Refrigeration, Steam etc.

Time served Apprenticeship

ONC, OND, C&G, NVQ

Multi-skilled (70% Mech / 30% Elect)
Relevant Engineering qualifications (Electrical Mechanical Engineering, Health & Safety, etc.)
Experience
Experience of FMCG operations, computer literate with experience of CMMS & Microsoft Office programs.
PLC fault finding/diagnostics along with a strong health and safety ethic and HACCP would be beneficial.
Key Competencies
Strong communications skills.
Ability to work within a team and on own initiative.
A positive can-do attitude.
Conditions of Role
Travel to other sites or suppliers may be required.
Will involve exposure to heights, confined areas, COSHH and extremes of temperature.
