Legrand has an exciting opportunity for aValue Stream Managerto join theData Center Power & Control Division Starline Teamin Reading, UK. The Value Stream Manager (VSM) will play a pivotal role in optimizing Starline's operations by overseeing the end-to-end processes within a specific value stream. . The VSM must model high standards of conduct and lead by example according to Legrand's values. This position is responsible for ensuring that all products meet quality specifications, testing requirements and design criteria. The VSM will ensure that safety, quality, productivity and efficiency goals are met by closely monitoring operational metrics, identifying areas of improvement and taking appropriate action. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, strong leadership, and hands-on operational experience.

What Will You Do?

  • Ensure that Health and Safety rules and regulations are adhered to in line with Legrand's health and safety policies.

  • Deputise for the Plant Manager during periods of absence.

  • Maintain high employee morale.

  • Manage, develop and motivate direct and indirect reporting staff.

  • Analyze end-to-end processes within assigned value stream to identify areas for improvement.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across departments, including production, supply chain, quality, and customer service, to ensure alignment with organizational goals and KPIs.

  • Lead Legrand team members to produce quality products on-time according to company polices.

  • Manage Legrand team members according to Legrand leadership development training.

  • Lead and manage assigned manufacturing processes utilizing the Legrand Way Tier meetings process.

  • Responsible for ensuring that all output built meets departmental standards of safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, 5/6S and budgetary (tools, scrap, etc.) goals.

  • Work with off-shift supervisors to maintain a productive relationship between shifts and manage production handovers effectively.

  • Have an active role in the company's continuous improvement plans for future growth of the organization.

  • Liaison between front line employees and all levels of management; key point of contact for all production related communications.

  • Professionally conduct employee corrective action after review with management.

  • Evaluate and track quality and production processes in accordance with the ISO 9001 standards in place.

  • Identify and resolve operational issues in conjunction with the frontline supervisor and Human Resources.

  • Provide guidance and support to team as they navigate process changes and improvements.

  • Adhere to all company policies, guidelines and practices including the values.

  • Support departmental budget objectives and purchase of non-inventory supplies as required.

  • Other duties as assigned by management.

    HNC/Associate's Degree required or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred in Operations Management, Engineering or Business.

  • Minimum five years leadership experience in a manufacturing environment may be considered in lieu of, or in conjunction with, educational requirements.

  • Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven experience in operations management, process improvement, or related roles.

  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing concepts, including 5/6S.

  • Team-building skills including ability to resolve conflict while maintaining harmonious work environment.

  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to identify opportunities for optimization and drive data-driven decisions.

  • Proficiency using MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP (Infor Syteline preferred) and inventory flow/control.

  • Proven ability to lead teams while achieving goals.

  • Prior experience training and developing work teams and individuals.

  • Proven ability to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

  • Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
  • Required exposure to manufacturing areas where the use of personal protective equipment is mandatory.

  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.

  • Able to effect manual handing up to 16/25Kg.
