Full Job Description

The Asset Survey & Inspection team at RPS are seeking a Up Stream Losses (USL) Engineer for the Welsh Water contract to be based in South Wales. The USL Engineer's duties will include surveying District Metered Areas to a high standard. An experienced leakage background is essential for delivery as is an understanding of flow and pressure management. Distribution knowledge and data logging is also a core requirement. Following a detailed plan of works and reporting. The suitable candidate will complete the daily work packs and report to his/her line-manager in a timely manner.

  • Good knowledge of leakage detection and distribution networks

  • GIS and DMA understanding

  • First Aid Trained

  • Confined Space Trained

  • Advanced leak noise correlator knowledge - Laptop based.

  • Hydrophone knowledge

  • Surveying and walking TM mains

  • Good understanding of utility tracing

  • Ensuring KPI's are achieved, maintained, and delivered

  • Formalisation and submission of detailed reports

  • Ensuring that all work is completed in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Lead and mentor team members, An individual with a strong commitment to Health and Safety

  • A successful track record of leading a team, with a strong management style and the ability to motivate, influence, negotiate and performance manage.

  • A strong Customer Service ethos and track record

  • Experience of meeting strict client and company targets

  • Computer literacy on Microsoft 360 Suite and Work Management Systems and applications.

  • Knowledge of flow and pressure data

  • Ability to work to deadlines and achieve targets.

  • Clear and fluent communication skills, both written and oral

  • A working knowledge of working within Utilities and Water Distribution is advantageous.

  • Knowledge of trunk-main distribution and leakage is essential.

  • Flexibility to work across all South Wales

  • Full UK driving license
