Full Job Description

Our school continues to go from strength to strength, with many school years being oversubscribed due to demand for places. There are tremendous benefits to working in the independent schools' school sector and St. Michael's is one of Wales' leading schools. Our summer 2022 exam results place us 11th coeducational independent school in the UK (Sunday Times) and we are nearly always in the top 50 of all schools. In 2021 we were named as Welsh Independent Secondary School of the Decade by The Sunday Times, as well as 2024 Best Value for Money Independent School in the UK by the Daily Telegraph. These achievements are down to our hard working staff who go above and beyond in everything that they do and our highly motivated pupils, whose conduct and enthusiasm supports them to achieve great things. Pupils wear their uniform with pride, their behaviour is exemplary and a strong pastoral system ensures that rewards and sanctions create a supportive and optimistic climate which allows learning
to take priority., We are seeking to appoint a highly personable, motivated and reliable Transport Coordinator who will be expected to take full responsibility for organising the pupils' home/school/home bus service, as well as coordinating transport arrangements for our busy extra curricular activities and trips calendar. This role has been until now facilitated by our Transport Manager who runs their own independent bus company which provides part of our fleet. Whilst the Transport Manager will continue to handle matters of maintenance and compliance, the critical role of Transport Coordinator handles the entire 'customer-facing' side of the operation.

You will be an energetic and self-motivated person with meticulous organisational skills and excellent communication skills. Somebody who understands the importance of reliable and dependable transport, knowing that parents are entrusting their children to the service to get them safely to and from school. You will wholeheartedly support our aims as an independent day and boarding school, where many parents make significant financial sacrifices to fund their children's education. If you join us, you will benefit from a good salary, company benefits, opportunities for professional development and the chance to be part of a friendly and encouraging staff team, in an optimistic and enjoyable working environment.
