Full Job Description
- Undertaking of sample analysis within the laboratory to ascertain asbestos content in building materials.
- Undergoing in-house training towards professional BOHS Proficiency Module qualifications in asbestos laboratory analytical work (BOHS P401)
- Learning to log technical data.
- Adherence to accreditation requirements and aspects which underpin our Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental systems.
- Self-motivated learning in conjunction with support from your mentor.
- Any other reasonable duties as requested by members of the Quality team., Receiving and appropriately logging samples received by the laboratory.
- Preparing samples for analysis.
- Carrying out analysis of samples for fibre content.
- Reporting analytical findings.
- Ensuring appropriate storage and retention of samples.
- Generating certificates of analysis and issuing to clients, and getting involved with other general laboratory and administrative duties.
- Pre checking asbestos survey reports.
Educated to GCSE level or equivalent - Willing to work towards the BOHS P401 qualification or equivalent.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Hands on experience of using IT equipment
- Teams (Surveying Software)
- Floor Plan Creator

We are a multidisciplinary, HSE-licensed asbestos removal and UKAS-accredited asbestos inspection and testing contractor. Based in Dartford, UK, we have a 50-strong team that provides a flexible and comprehensive portfolio of asbestos services, including asbestos surveys, remediation, roofing and contract delivery, to property and construction clients in the public and private sectors.

In addition to being an HSE-licenced and having a UKAS-accredited testing laboratory, we are SafeContractor approved and a Constructionline Gold member. Major recent projects included asbestos removal at the historic Alexandra Palace, London, for Willmott Dixon; asbestos surveys for Ipswich Borough Council; and, since 2011, asbestos surveys, reinspections and management advice at sites throughout the UK for the Canal & River Trust.
