To provide a social work service to children and young people and their families assessed as being in need of care and support Children Act (1989) and the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014

To fulfill the role of a key worker) in respect of children whose names are included on the Child Protection Register

To work in partnership with families whose children are Looked After by the Local Authority or family members.

To work with families and professionals within the community, and undertake Court work - both private and public proceedings.

To contribute to a duty service within the Intake Team.

Any other duties as directed by Corporate Chief Officer (Social Services) or senior nominated officer which may be deemed legal and reasonable at the time of instruction., All employees are required to comply with their individual and organisational responsibilities under the Data Protection Act, the Information Security Policy and relevant supporting operational policies. Any matters of a confidential nature must not be disclosed or passed to any unauthorised persons or third party under any circumstance either during or after employment except in the proper course of your employment or as required by law, Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council or both. Any breach of confidentiality may lead to disciplinary action.

Ability to speak Welsh is desirable.
