Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Supervisor to join our team. As a Manufacturing Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of the department's weekly production plan in accordance to the Safety Quality Delivery and Cost principles. You will be reporting to the Manufacturing Manager and be responsible for around 30 production operators.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Plan day to day of the team to meet internal and external customer demand.

  • Report material and labour consumption into MRP system, fault find and manage raw material stocks.

  • Initiate in-direct material purchase.

  • Initiate and in some cases lead the improvement project to improve safety, quality, efficiency, delivery performance and cost reductions as agreed with line manger.

  • Manage improvements using a structured 6S process.

  • Allocate and manage tools and equipment required.

  • Ensure effective communication with the team.

  • In consultation with the Manufacturing Manager, manage attendance, absence, working hours etc with the support of the HR team.

  • Ensure employees are adequately inducted and trained to accomplish production and other objectives in line with Dellner standard work instructions and procedures.

    Technical education - NVQ level 3 or HNC preferred.

  • 3 years minimum of experience leading a team in a manufacturing background, chemical based processing, but this is not essential.

  • Continuous improvement, lean or similar improvement knowledge.

  • Production background - can make logical decisions through understanding of the product.

  • Excellent planning and organisation skills.

  • Leadership skills and a structured way of working.
